ABOUT US

Welcome to the 1621 Featherston Drive Chapter of the Ottawa Little Free Library!

We're so glad you've come to visit! Hopefully if you are on this website you will be inspired to pop by to pick up or share a novel / book.

Jack Castell is the Steward of this Little Free Libary.

Jack was inspired by the Little Free Library (with some proding by his Mom) as a means to earn his carpentry badge for Scouts. He also shares a love of books and has been reading from a very young age.  As a matter of fact, our first outings with Jack as an infant were our Friday night dates to our local book store in Arlington, Virginia where Jack would sit in his stroller while his dad and I would peruse the shelves and enjoy a java.  Not much has changed for our family as we can often be found at Chapters enjoying a coffee and book.

We admit that we do have Kobos (e-readers) but there is nothing quite like the texture of a book or the ability to dog ear a page and come back to it that will ever be replaced by a tablet or e-reader.  Also, there's just something about sharing a book with a friend that can not be duplicated by sending a link to an e-book.  We hope that you get this sense and enjoy the dog-earred books that have been enjoyed, loved and cared for in this Little Free Library.

Please do feel free to drop us a note with feedback or to share a story!

Fondly,

Juliann & Jack Castell
